Wiper travel?

Featured Replies

Hi guys/girls,

Ive just bought a 2019 Connect Limited with low milage. Im very happy with it but for a wiper issue. Both wipers travel too far and hit the corner post at the end of their travel especially if the screen is very wet or driving fast(ish). Its not real bad but there is an annoying thump which cant be good for the blades, the motor or my OCD. I see limit marks etched on the windscreen at the sides which i assume is to set the max travel but is there a mode or sequence that i can do to set this or is it a main dealer plug in operation

Thanks in advance

D.

Will do Stephen,

Thanks

Have a look at the bottom of the screen to see if there are timing marks for where the wipers should sit at rest position. Could be small slots or circles in the black obscure room band.

If the blades are sitting too high you can try repositioning them to line up with the marks but note in some cases you’ll be limited by the splines cut into the arms and where they match up on the spindles. As you tighten them they will very likely align to the spline cuts even if you offset them.
