Clutch pedal stuck. Car goes in gear but won't move

Featured Replies

So I have a mondeo mk3 1.8 that has a hydraulic clutch pump. A week ago I was having vibrations on idle and I was hearing some metalic noise after car was warm. When car was cold there was no noise or vibration.  I thought it was engine related but after hearing carefully the noise was coming from gearbox.

Yesterday clutch pedal was soft and the car was making hissing sound when in high gear when I was releasing the throttle, like a tyre losing air. I had no slippage on clutch or loss of power or hesitation. Car was accelerating just fine.

Suddenly my clutch pedal stuck on up position and became hard. I cannot press it down no matter the force I apply to the pedal. I can go in gear without pressing the clutch pedal but car will not move.

Is it the pump or the clutch, flywheel? My mechanic wants to change clutch, flywheel, bearings and charge me 1200euros.he said it's not the pump because car goes in gear and will not move. He told me clutch pump affects the pedal
