ABS light

Featured Replies

Hi all, I have a 2013 fiesta 1.0l titanium x ecoboost mk6.5, my car has just had the air and oil filter and oil changed and now the abs light has come on and stays on, no errors detected when used a code reader, checked all 4 solenoids to the wheels and checked with a multimeter and they are fine, disconnected the battery for about 4 hours and light still on, checked the fuses and none blown. I have only driven it on my drive so no real usage but used the brakes and they are good.
Any advice would be appreciated as I am not looking forward to having the abs motor replaced due to the cost

Not in the UK you don't. 🤔

It is a Mk7 very nearly a Mk7.5

The use of a generic code reader very often does not read the Ford specific DTC. There has to be a stored code for the ABS light to be on. Use FORScan and get the code and the explanation of the probable fault.

FORScan (for use with Windows Laptop) : https://forscan.org/download.html

It's what many Ford owners use including some Ford technicians.

You may need Ford specific code reader to pick up ABS faults, such as Forscan etc

Generic code readers often only pick up a standard list of DTC codes relating to engine running/emissions as per OBD2 requirements

As per the above post that beat me to it 😂

Thanks for your replies
I am confused because the fiesta is a 2013 U.K. manufacturer rhd, I’ve been told by my local Ford dealership that it is not a mk6 and neither is it a mk7, they informed me it is the upgraded model between a 6 & 7 so referred to it as a 6.5.

When I have ordered parts before some sites when I’ve typed in the vin number have said it’s a mk6, some have said it’s a mk7 and another informed me the vin number is a van.

I have downloaded the FORScan app on my iPhone but what type of lead do I need to plug into the car, I’ve read you can Bluetooth my iPhone to the car but surely it needs a lead to plug into the car’s memory but confused to which one for the iPhone to the car

Trust me when I say you have a Fiesta MK7 here in the UK.

Thanks and I do trust you, it’s rather confusing when we are looking for parts and not even a dealership and car part suppliers are in sync with the mark

Thanks for the info on the links, sorry I missed your first posting of it

2013 should be facelift Mk7 with the Aston style front grill (Mk7.5).  If you post a picture we can confirm that.

In Europe they still refer to it as a Mk6.
