Mk1 escort lights indicators brake lights issue

Featured Replies

Hi can anyone help/advise I have a mk1 escort the alternator cooked the battery I replaced the battery and new alternator starts and runs fine now I have no lights indicators checked the fuses a load had blown replaced them with new still no lights checked the bulbs all blown replaced all bulbs now I have a constant rear light on and one rear indicator n/s that works any ideas please

If the fuses and bulbs were blown then I'd expect the wiring to be damaged as well.

From memory the 1969 Escort Mk1 used a DC generator not an alternator. Has it been converted ?

If it still has a generator then I would expect that the voltage regulator will have been well cooked.
