Electrical issues - 2021 puma

Featured Replies

Hi guys, we have a 2021 ford puma and over the last 3 days we’ve experienced some electrical issues. We parked up just fine on Saturday and then when we got back to the car, the radio had no sound at all. The volume knob doesn’t bring anything up on the screen and the volume buttons on the steering wheel also don’t work. I have tried CarPlay and the radio etc, and all works fine (as in you can use the unit, change the radio station etc) but there is just no sound. It does still make a sound for the parking sensors though? I have checked the fuse for the audio unit, all looks good, I have performed a full factory reset, still no joy. Any ideas??

weirdly at the same time we noticed that the keyless entry on the passenger door has stopped working at exactly the same time - related or coincidence? Thanks in advance

Related, yes.

The vehicle battery State Of Charge is low, and the car is trying to turn off none essential equipment.

Charge the battery for a MINIMUM of 12 hours and all should return to normal.

Thanks for your reply. I took it to my local dealership today and mentioned what you said about the battery. They gave the battery a test and it came back fine, giving good voltage reading of 12.61 volt and no issues on the health report. Anyways, it’s booked in for Friday morning so will report back if they find anything

I don't doubt what you say, but I suspect the garage were not telling you the whole truth. Your battery voltage would be unlikely to be 12.61V  as that is in the 100%+ bracket. Your cars charging system (unless you have reprogrammed it) is set to only charge the battery to 80% which would be 12.42V

I suspect that they didn't check the voltage 1 hour after parking it up, and the battery had not had time to settle to the correct level.
