Sensors enquiry

Featured Replies

Hi all, as a new member I think I've an interesting van to puzzle you with if your interested I'd appreciate a little advice and input.

I have an old girl Ford transit 2003, 2.3 petrol engine in her, manual van RWD, E5FA 16 valve, Much work in the past. Currently I took her in to swap a few sensors due rough idle, slight misfire, poor acceleration and an oil leak around the oil filter. Which leads me to a question, The mechanic could only fit 3 of the 4 sensors I provided him. 1 - Camshaft position sensor, 2- Crankshaft position sensor, 3- Oil pressure sensor, 4- oil temp sensor ( of which he said he couldn't find the location of! ) Any ideas?

Secondly does anyone know what the screw thread is used for on the oil pressure sensor( attached as a photo here ) Q: Should it have some sort of cable attached or sits mounted bare threaded to the elements?

Hi, have you tried posting this in the Ford Transit forum?

I don't know much about Transit engines but I do recognise the type of switch pictured. The switch would certainly need a cable attached to make it work and it would be of the simple push on type.

The connector will look similar to the one in this photo (which is used for a water temp sender)
