Battery drainage

Featured Replies

Left the car standing for just over a week and the battery didn’t have enough charge to start the car, wouldn’t even crank, tested battery voltage at just over 8 v, will charge the battery from the mains tonight and see how we get on, but if I wanted to check the resting current draw , roughly what should it be? I think it’s actually the original battery and at 8 years old and 77000 miles it may need replacing, car is 2016 ST line, thanks

I know 🙂 but I wanted to try a few things before shelling out 200 quid

Fair point, cheers

The resting Current should be no more than 50 mA, after the car has gone to sleep, which can take up to an hour.

I agree with Stephen though about the Battery needing to be replaced.

Wintertime always was a battery killer, esp. if it's not fully charged...

Just swapped the battery over and tried to reset the battery management with the flash and break pedal but didn’t seem to work and flash the battery symbol, anything else I should be doing?

Is this the method you used?
