Sparkly oil

Featured Replies

Hello guys, happy new year!

Not so happy for my beloved focus though.

Decided to check the oil yesterday (level is perfect) and I have a look under th cap every week for any signs of badness and yesterday I discovered shiny bits like glitter in the oil. She's been well serviced all her life, oil every 6k miles given or take and always used Lucas oil.

Now, obviously something is wearing out and wearing out really fast and suddenly, any ideas what? Anything common? I'm guessing maybe the turbo, for the last 35k she's sounded screechy but I had that put down to the exhaust manifold leaking which seems to be very common and was actually gonna do that in the new year. No blue smoke, no lack of power. But I'm guessing I might be wrong and the bearing is finally disintegrating and leaving bits in the oil? The screeching sound did sound like the manifold area and not from the turbo but maybe it's just sound waves bouncing all over the place. I shall upload a video later. Any good news would be lovely PXL_20250101_185408318.thumb.jpg.357f22291355ecb57ccd734a53aaae56.jpgPXL_20250101_175709897.thumb.jpg.9c50b04179dc1e87e375d39d271509de.jpg
