Mk1 1.6 zetec cylinder head temperature

Featured Replies

I own a focus mk1 1.6 zetec with 195000kms.I have a problem with temperature. When I drive until 2000rpm hidden menu shows temperature until 100celsius.When rpm rise it shows 104 degrees fan kicks on an never stops unless rpms fall under 2000 or xar idles.I have changed radiator cup, waterpump, thermostat, paraflu, radiator with no results.Could this happen due to error cylinder head temperature sensor?Does anyone have same problem?

I can't see a problem here.  Constantly revving the engine higher will produce more heat.  That's why the fan is fitted.

Have you owned the car for long?

I bought it new 22 years ago. Is it normal fans working all the time? And what will happen when rpms go to 5000 for example. They won't be sufficient for cooling the engine

Well, if it hasn't happened in the last 22 years then that does suggest there's a fault now.

I wouldn't recommend anyone drives at 5000rpm for more than a few seconds.

Does the temperature go down while the fan is on or stay the same?
