Battery

Featured Replies

Hi

I have been on here before regarding a APIM for sync 2 on my 2016 focus. To recap. It went in for a MOT came out with a message on the screen stating "battery saving mode on, shutting down." I charged the battery and then got a new battery which did not change anything on the sync screen. I was told it needed updating by mechanic so took it to Ford dealer where they said it needed a new APIM. @  £800. So I decided to do without. I have went from August with the system not working and my partner took my car which she plug a charger into the front usb and left it just sitting ideal ( unknown if this os relevant).  2 days the car battery was dead. I charged it up but wouldn't hold its charge. Got a replacement battery and again battery was low.

I done some tests on the fuses and found that the drain was coming from the sync system.  My question is. Has anyone had this problem before and if I replace the APIM will it solve it completely or has something happened at the MOT to trigger all this off?
