Featured Replies

Is the FORscan not available for windows ? Tried the download but my laptop will not accept it.

I think it is, did your Laptop say what the problem was?

Tizer, it says cannot import download. Can only import binary files.

Have you followed the link from FORScan's website?

I'm not computer literate enough to understand that, but a lot of others on here are and I'm sure they will be able to point you in the right direction.

Dave70, yes mate. Done both downloads but it will not let me near the licence key.

Did I hear mention recently that there were issues with ForScan downloads because it was Russian based and new sanctions have just come into force?

I thought you meant you couldn't download it. FORScan have suspended Paid For Licences because of the Sanctions, you can still get a free 2 month Trial one though but you don't need that unless you want to do Programming, it should still work just the same for everything else.

Correct, but that is only for Paid for Licences if you want to do Configuration and Programming, not for everything else.

Just tested it 2 minutes ago. The FORScan windows download is working without any problems.

You can download FORScan 2.3.64 direct from my Google drive using this link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/14KCfYKXEnI1yr8q4EmE06QSvdQkBANkY/view?usp=sharing

OR from the FORScan site using the link below:

It's what many Ford owners use including some Ford technicians.

the real version of forscan is windows only - BS sanctions have just stopped us buying the license - they are looking at other methods to reintroduce (for those that want to really break their car)

I'm betting BitCoin will enter the equation somewhere 😂

Someone has asked them already Stephen.

There is an individual who apparently has been ok'd by FORScan to purchase Licences on other peoples behalf for approx double the normal small fee to cover converting the money to Roubles and sending it to FORScan. Whether people trust this is another matter and I will not comment. Apparently this all came about via a Facebook FORScan users Group, so if you are not on Facebook then you might be stuffed.

As Far as I know there is still no way of purchasing the much more useful for everything except Programming Android version.

Why on earth would you say that?

What is wrong with you?

To be fair, ForScan terrifies me! I have very little technical knowledge and am always scared of doing something wrong in it which will have a severe impact on my car's operation. I simply am not knowledgeable enough or confident to get myself out of an errant situation.

I have only ever used it once, to try & diagnose a fault, and had to be walked in baby steps by some excellent support members of this forum gave me.

I can liken it to the first time I went into the 'registry' of an XP Windows computer. I was trying to fix a fault, and ended up entering a wrong registry string, which made my desktop unusable. Ended up having to get a  friend to re-install windows again for me. Lost everything on it!

There's an old saying, 'a little knowledge is a dangerous thing'. 😂

The download is available and the free version will allow you to do diagnostics but no programming.

For coding and programming Forscan requires an extended license which you can register for a free 2 month extended license.

Longer term license sales have been suspended due to the payment processor they use being banned under sanctions.

On the Forscan group on Facebook, there is an individual who can get licenses - I used him a couple of days ago to grab a years license as for some reason I never got a reply to my request for a 2 month extended license.

Unless it's coding keys / PATS, there's not a lot you can screw up that badly. The vast majority of bad coding wouldn't be accepted by the modules anyway.

If you don't pay for or have an extended license, then you can't 'write' anything to modules anyway so you can't screw anything up 🙂

Yes, that's fine but the statement suggests everyone is going to break the car.

FORScan is a fantastic tool, if you take the time to learn what it does

I really can appreciate that statement. I don't really need the use of it so have no desire to go through a steep learning curve.

Recently whilst getting my car serviced, I watched my guy use his 'SnapOn' diagnostic tool on an expensive Audi. The thing that impressed me most was the graphic user interface. It used large self explanatory icons, with clear written notes telling you what to do, and what the results meant. It looked so easy that even I reckon I could use it with confidence.

ForScan looks as if it was written before the 'mouse' was invented LOL I so admire you guys that make sense of the whole thing...
