I have a 2008 ford C Max 1.8tdci the electric power steering pump as gone and I want to put a second hand one on because new is too expensive. Want to change it myself but been getting told different answers as to if pump needs to be coded to the car. Some garages say no only if it was new one, but some say it got to be coded. Anyone know if it should be plug and play as don't want to say garage to change it if doesn't need coding. Thanks in advance for any help

    Just to let anyone know had second hand electric steering pump fitted and didn't need to be coded.
