IAC Valve, Where is it ?

Featured Replies

Hey all 😊

Does anyone know for the life of me where the IAC valve is on my ford fiesta 2011 diesel 1.4.

My car surges (revs go up and down) it could be the throttle body needs cleaning but my suspicion is the IAC valve. I have heard ford diesel cars don't have an IAC valve which I'm sceptical about this.

Thank you

Diesels don't have an IAC.  And the throttle body isn't used to control revs on a diesel.

The MAF is probably covered in K&N oil.

So where is the MAF then ? Also what does the throttle body do then for diesel cars ?

Thank you Tomsfocus

The MAF is between the airbox and the intake pipe.  You can see the 4-wire plug with a small red tab on it in the first picture.  You can leave it plugged in and just unscrew it to remove from the airbox.

The throttle body is used with the EGR valve to control NOx emissions.  It also snaps shut when you switch off the engine to prevent the 'clatter' that used to happen when older diesels were switched off.
