Fiesta Mk8 - inner door panel removal

Featured Replies

On the Mk8 3 door, with the door card removed, there is a plastic cover panel held in with multiple plastic nuts that twist to unlock. They all come off except the top two, which appear to be bolted through to the window mechanism, and which prevent you from removing this inner panel completely. My fear is that releasing the two bolts will cause the window to drop!

Does anyone know how to remove this plastic door panel without upsetting the window mechanism?

The window mechanism is part of that panel.

You need to disconnect the window from the regulator.  There will be one or two small holes covered by foam around half way up the panel.  You can lower the window to line those holes up with bolts or clips in the glass.  Once the glass is released, raise it to the top then tape it over the top of the door so that it can fall.  Then you can lower the regulator again and remove the inner door panel.
