Seatbelt not fastened but car doesn't recognise it

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My car got recently stolen and happily recovered but after making new keys to the car as thieves had removed my keys from it when they stolen it and I had noticed that when I don't fasten my seatbelts the seatbelt light goes away anyways and immobiliser malfunction comes up on the screen like glitch multiple times one by one and after few minutes it stops and the malfunction disappears. I haven't checked my fuses yet which I will do in short time but it seems like a weird issue which wasn't there before when car was stolen

Update on the topic, I have tried the seatbelt "reset" which i found on the forum and now car detects that I don't have my seatbelt on and the error with immobiliser malfunction pops up once at the start and then after minute or two disappears

Does the car still start ok with the immobiliser warning message?

If yes and it's keyless, will it start without the key in the car?

I'm just trying to work out whether the thieves 'wiped' the immobiliser from the car, but left the warning message in the cluster.

I just have checked and when I get into the car and try to start it the usual pops up that key not detected.

when I start the car all functions work correctly and car has full power

There is no check engine light or anything, only warning on the sync system

Ok, I think one of the modules is stuck in a loop and just needs to be rebooted.  You can try disconnecting the battery for half an hour though it may need a hard reboot using Forscan or similar.

I Bought yesterday OBD adapter for a laptop to use forscan and will definitely try that!

Thank you very much and will get back on the thread when i manage to do it.

I fixed it! I managed to get full license to forscan and going through keyless programming i tried the programming process with already programmed keys and RFA module started recognising them as still forscan was showing that in PATS there are 0 keys programmed and now it says that there are 2 keyes programmed. The popup on Sync screen has dissapeared and doesnt reappear again! 😄
