Hi folks

I'm new to this forum but have used it in the past for general enquiry issues for friends cars.

I have the above car which has 39k on it. Over the last few weeks gearbox has had issues with 2nd gear and have read numerous post relating to this. Is there any documented evidence that this specific gearbox is littered with issues. Currently awaiting news when gearbox has been stripped, I've had to authorise £890 for work to be carried out. I have bever had a gearbox issue with any ford I've had in the past. What's the chances I will get this done free of charge.

    Free of charge!? 😮   At best they might offer a bit of goodwill, I would be very surprised if it's anywhere near free of charge.

    These gearboxes do seem to be unreliable but I'm not aware of any formal evidence to confirm it.
