Help disconnecting airpipe as I can't change battery

Featured Replies

I'm in the middle of changing battery, the plastic pipe is causing me issues, I can't move airbox out of the way, looks as though it should come apart where the ribs are, I've tried it does not want to separate, help would be much appreciated

In theory you can push the Tabs in and pull it apart but when I did mine it was very cold and there was no give in the Plastic so rather than struggle, I took the whole intake system off by removing the Plastic Trim where the Bonnet Lock is.

It is more time consuming but not difficult.

Thanks for your advise, the new battery is in, not connected yet as I'm charging it, the only issue I had was the Jubilee clip when I had tightened it, the socket came off the ratchet, luckily I could reach it to retrieve it, also I nearly trapped the bonnet cable under the airbox, hopefully the rest will be plain sailing

Yeah, it saves possibly breaking the Plastic, I'm always wary of Plastic going brittle as it ages.

Make sure you plug the Temperature Sensor back in if you disconnected it, it's the thing with the two wires near the top left of your third Photo.

Thanks, I left it plugged in, Few things I'm not perfectly happy with, the top battery clamp left a gap, so didn't tighten on top of the battery, I've cut a strip of thick rubber to put in the gap of the bracket and the top of battery.

I followed the video how to reset BMS and it didn't work for me?

Not totally happy with how the red plastic positive cover, sits on the battery, it does seem secure though,

The biggest surprise to me, was that I had all my radio stations, date, time, thought I was going to have to reset them,

I've driven my car and all seems well, needs a good wash though.
