Steam out of coolant reservoir

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have finally got the replacement coolant hose for a brittle one which snapped during the wet belt job, thankfully the car started and ticks over just fine. There was a decent amount of air in the system which I got out with the bleed valve and think its all out but may be a slight be left in.

anyway I left the coolant lid off when starting and ran to temperature, the car stayed at 4 bars on the gauge and didn't rise thankfully. However, with the coolant lid off there was some slight vapour coming out of it. It was mild and I think it was maybe just because it was around 5 degrees in the garage and breathing looked like I was vaping.

Is this just condensation as the coolant is warm? Hoping its nothing more than that.

Thanks
