Upgrade 6 button CD player to Sync

Hi all. I've bought a 2013 Ecoboost the other week. Got it sitting on private property as still need to get insurance sorted but on the 70 mile drive back from the dealer I am happy with it so far. Kissed 65MPG which is enough to satisfy my MPG obsession; just need to buy the cruise control kit and find the OBD adapter I have somewhere.

Anyway the radio is a non-sync version despite the car being a Zetec trim. At most I have AUX and USB playback. The USB port works for a USB stick and plays back music fine but doesn't work with my phone (S24). My phone just keeps charging then stops as if you are physically pulling out the charging cable and reinserting it constantly. Aux works except for answering calls and changing tracks through the radio (obviously).

As far as I am aware I would need to buy a new head unit and display, and sort out a separate Bluetooth module as well as rerouting the USB/Aux wires to the BT box. Just how easy is it  - especially with the Bluetooth module? Would it be a case of the cables for the Bluetooth module already being there or buying a new loom? If I need to buy a new loom, would this be separate to the dash loom or having to buy a dashloom and cut out the part I need? 

Other option is a Parrot handsfree kit. Would rather avoid buying a 3rd party radio as A. that would look hideous and B. I would lose access to some vehicle settings.
