Climate problem

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I have fiesta mk7.5 with auto climate control.I have a problem with the auto clima. During the summer, if I set it to any temperature, it blows warm ambient air. The only way to get cool air is to set it to "low." Similarly, during the winter, no matter what temperature I set it to, it blows cold ambient air, and the only way to get warm air is to set it to "hi."Essentially, I have no temperature control — I either get very cold air or very hot air. I’ve taken it to a few workshops, but they didn’t take the issue sseriously. They checked the refrigerant and the compressor, and both are working properly. However, no one wanted to investigate the sensors, so I decided to fix it myself.I read somewhere that there is an internal sensor that reads the car’s interior temperature and tells the air conditioning system to adjust the airflow temperature accordingly. This sensor can fail and provide incorrect readings. For example, in summer, it might indicate that the interior is already very cool, so the system doesn’t provide cold air unless you set it to the maximum cooling ("low"). I verified that it’s giving incorrect readings using FORScan.

My question is, has anyone else experienced the same issue? If so, does anyone know where this sensor is located or even the part number, so I can replace it?

The sensor is around the the drivers left knee.  It's accessed from behind the climate control panel.
