Will I Have To Tell My Car Insurance

Featured Replies

Technically yes but you aren't modifying the actual exhaust system in any way but im not 100% sure

i wouldn't imagine so, it dont effect the system, sound or anything just simply tidies it up... and is easily removable so i guess not

I had one of these on mine and i didn't tell my insures. I think its only necessary if you've done what i did and fit a cat-back system for eg

Yes, yes, yes.

Unless you want to foot the bill of any accident yourself, tell your insurance company.

ANY modification away from the STANDARD car can (and in 99.99% of cases, will) end up with the insurance company refusing to honour the agreement.

Even a car direct from the dealer with "extras" such as different wheels, leather seats, tinted windows etc, needs notification to your insurance policy.

The chances of them asking for anymore money is just about zero (unless you are into the various tuning stages) but they can and will use this a a cop out if you are involved in an accident. Try asking for repairs to the rear windows and they find out you had tinted and not clear glass. They simply will not pay out.

As the advert states, it is a "minor modification" so the cost of a phone call is well worth it...unless you have more money than sense.

I just wouldn't get one, it looks a bit naff

but on a serious point, i personally wouldn't bother, but it would probably be the best thing to do

exactly what michael said... on both fronts!
