Water ingress to boot

Featured Replies

Hi, 2016 three door, started to see water collecting in the spare wheel well.  Dried it all out then sprayed the roof and rear of the car with a hosepipe, kept checking after a few hours, nothing, checked 24 hours later, water again, anyone tell me the most common areas to check, I’ve removed the rear light units and all seems dry?

Had this on mine

Check the plastic roof runners closest to the tailgate and down to the top of the boot rubber..

The factory sealant had degraded on mine..had to lift up the rear of the runner and clear out the sealant down to the boot seal and replace..used the sealant to restick the roof rail and gaffa taped it over night

I think a 2016 would be a facelift?  In the facelift, Ford fixed that specific area of stupidity.

Thanks, I’ll check this out as well as behind the light cluster, I wanted to try as many other things before I had to remove the bumper
