Just when I thought problems with this car was coming to an end I tried opening my door and the door handle came off. I was unable to push it back in so I tried to remove the key part by using a t20 screwdriver with the screw inside the side door. Now the screw has vanished and I assumed falling into the door now. Does anyone know the name of the screw for replacement? I believe some plastic has either snapped off the handle of actually inside the door plastic.

The screw isn't available as an individual part.  It comes as part of the handle mount assembly.

Yeah, I just realised it's still in there but for some reason the part keeps moving about. When I put it in place the screw won't turn now! Do you know if the screw goes inside the plastic part or in front of it?

The screw should be through the plastic part.  Can see it here although it takes some looking!

Ok I've done some research and it appears my screw has removed itself from it's gap. This picture here from another user shows it:

I might have to remove the door card to get to it as wriggling it around to get into place is impossible. The door handle plastic seems to be a bit broken too, do you know if it needs to be replaced?

 

 

Yes that handle is very broken.  Missing the other half of the clip.

Do you think I can switch the driver and passenger door handles for now? I can try to fix the inner screw by taking about the door now.

Yeah, that's a good idea.  I'm fairly sure they are the same both sides on these.
