Leaking Focus - Bung + replacement wadding ?

Featured Replies

Hello folks,

First time poster here!

I have a 2015 focus with the usual leak in the boot that many of them seem to have :-(

I had two questions.

Firstly, does the bung twist out, or just pull out if I grip it with some pliers?

Secondly, I’ve read a lot of guides and so plan to have a go at fixing it this weekend. I had a question about the wadding - does anyone have a link or part number to get replacements? I didn’t know if it’s just general stuff, or something specific to the car.  Understand I can just leave it out, but then it seems for those people that do, that its then noisy, hence looking for some new wadding I can put back in.

Many Thanks in advance.

I had the problem on my Mk3 ST, the bungs can just be pushed upwards into the rear 1/4 light bulk area then retrieved when you seal the bumper grilles as for the soaked wadding I ran mine through a low heat wash in a domestic washing machine then dried them on the radiator before replacing them.
