I didn’t remove steering rods when I took it off though

May seem a silly question, but were they the correct size ball joints as Ford used  both 18mm and 21mm ones.

Yeah 21mm but was doing a bit of digging and could be to do with the steering rod end needs to be taken out and suspension arm disconnected and refit again hopefully cheers for comment

Can't go wrong as the 21mm hub was for the diesel and 18mm hub petrol. If you put the 18mm balljoint into the 21mm hub you have an issue.  Doubting that probably just need the tracking set.

Hopefully if the disconnect and refit don’t work I’ll go for tracking cheers Ray any idea what sort of money for the tracking?

Aftermarket wishbones aren't all built to the perfect OE spec.  If they're just slightly longer or shorter between the centre of the bush and the centre of the balljoint that changes the angle of the wheels without touching the track rods.  Should be fine after having the tracking done.

Cheers Tom will undoing the ball joints  and steering joints make no difference to the steering as I didn’t take of the steering arm when fitting the wishbone

Undoing the nut on top of the BJ or the nut on top of the track rod end won't make any difference at all.

Only way you could make a difference is by undoing the 3x bolts holding the balljoint to the wishbone.  Though without tracking equipment you wouldn't know how exactly far to move it before tightening them, and often they are single use rivets anyway.
