Gearbox parameters

Featured Replies

Hi,

My wife’s car Ford Fusion 2004 Semi-Auto 1.4 petrol. Stopped working. Slowly wouldn’t start and then stopped completely. Display wouldn’t show any gears or neutral. Wouldn’t start. Had some codes come up and figured out it was the clutch actuator which I removed sent off and had repaired. It came back. I’ve fitted it, bled it and attempted to reprogram the gear parameters. However, it now won’t go past a certain temperature. The diagnostics tool was dying so we left it a week before attempting again. I bled the Hydraulic fluid, gave the car a good clean and loosened the gear selector piston as it seemed to be stiff. I then tried to reprogram it again today and it was doing the same, wouldn’t reach temperature. So we attempted to learn the transmission parameters of the car. While attempting to do this it was going through the process of learning the gears however it would only go to neutral and 4th. So, I still haven’t been able to program it and I can’t figure out what’s wrong with it or what to do next. Had a new code come up now which is P0949 which is Autoshift manual adaptive learning not complete. I’ll put a picture of the white plastic thing on the gear selector that I loosened up as it wouldn’t move. I don’t know what’s going on but any ideas what to do next? I’ve checked the wiring it seems to be fine. Apart from that it will not start unless it’s plugged into the computer. So it’s just sitting there. I don’t know if the gear selector is nackered??

Any help appreciated! Thank you.

Sounds like it is.

Is the main battery voltage good?
