mk4 panroof sun blind drops into interior when retracting

Featured Replies

Hi there - anyone have any ideas on this one?

I have a 2018 mk 4 Focus STx with a pan roof.  When retracting the sun blind  the blind doesn't retract properly and the fabric ends up dropping into the interior.

It appears to be a common enough problem (according to Google) but i can't find any fixes.

Any thoughts?

Cheers,

Charles

2026 model year cars will automatically go in the skip at the end of the production line,

for 2027 they won't bother making them and your government will just extract funds from your account

That picture also shows how useless the sun blind is at blocking the sun from the car on these.

I don't know the fix unfortunately.

It should have plastic guides on the support strips that keep it in the channels.

Whatever the front has, that's still in the channels, the rear should have, that's all I can help with.

Either make it close and keep it closed

Or make it open and keep it open

I like your thinking DaveT70.  To be fair, it's the only problem I've had with this car.  Brilliant to drive and to look at.  I took your advice and after 5 minutes of faff the blind is now permanently open.   The roof is open much of the time anyway.  We'll see how i get on.  Cheers.
