Fuel flap spring release broken on mk4 focus

Hi,

Newbie here. The "push-to-open" release mechanism on the fuel door of my 2020 focus is broken - it can be pried open, but is a bit of a pain, so would like to get it fixed. Thinking it would be a small job, I checked with a Ford dealer, and they're quoting €400+ for it - eeek. It's not that much of a pain!

They were saying that the whole housing needs to be replaced and repainted. I just wanted to check if anybody knows of a cheaper / bodge fix?

    You can buy the whole assembly off eBay (£30) and just change the bits that's broken.
