Airbox off 4.5 focus

Featured Replies

Why is it so hard to get the front pipe off the airbox. Trying to change the battery and I can't get the clips off the front air pipe. Any help?

I used a very thin flat head screwdriver to release the clips next to the flexible bit.

Cheers dude. No matter how much I push the tab in it feels like it's not moving.

Cold plastic is stiff and brittle.  Try warming it up a bit if possible.

I had the same issue, I was advised on this forum to remove the plastic strip above the radiator it's still part of the air intake, sorry not very technical, I think it had 2 plastic clips to remove and maybe 2 pozi screws, sorry I can't remember. hope all goes well, if not I'm sure there's someone who could explain it better.

I think it’s a solid clip and you have to lift the edge of the other part off it.

Thanks all. Got it off with a lot of swearing. Trying to get the battery clamp is a pain. The battery fits apparently but can't get it even close to clamping over it. Yuasa 7096.

I replaced a 60Ah Ford Varta with the YBX7096 no problem. It’s taller but not much taller and the clamp still fit. Check there is nothing in the tray that’s removable for larger batteries in the way. Also make sure you’ve slid it in to the slots and not sat it on top of them.

I cocked up and didnt seat the battery right. Brother came over and sorted it in minutes. Still had to take the airbox off again. Good fun. Cheers all.
