22 plate Focus Titanium - is it the facelift/upgraded model?

Featured Replies

Hi there,I am  going to look at this Focus next week. There have been so many subtle changes to the models in recent years, can someone help me to identify if it's a mk4 or 4.5.  The "features" list doesn't give much indication. Would appreciate any thoughts on the matter.  Many Thanks

Neither.

Focus Mk4 was introduced late 2018.

A 22 plate should be a Focus Mk4.5 but the one in your post above looks to me to be a Mk4

The facelift was announced early 2022, so a UK 22 plate could possibly be either a very late Mk 4 or a Mk 4.5 facelift, though it does look like a Mk 4.It's probably easier to tell inside where the facelift has a much larger touchscreen and less buttons for heating controls etc - see link below:

Thanks so much, that's very good practical advice on how to distinguish each model.  I have a 2017 Tit Navigator that I am happy with though it's getting on in years. Saw a review on YouTube that was critical of the 1lt eco boost engine and  TBH the diesel engine I have is  very economical. Is it a case of the king's new clothes? That perhaps the new iterations are all style etc?

Thanks folks for your advice prior to a recent 22 plate test drive. It WAS a Tit but one prior to face-lift. TBH it was no great shakes, felt the 1.0 was slow to react, compared to my diesel. Perhaps it needed a service?  Inside a few changes especially the digital ent screen, but it was not what was advertised in the spec. Heating controls still separate, which is much safer. The screen was quite small. Not sure if it's penny pinching but; only 1 interior courtesy light, USB moved from central console to the front, what about those in the back trying to recharge, glasses holder above mirror removed. Is this what's called progress? And that irritating flimsy parking brake.  The Tit did have a reversing camera and MHEV, not sure of the quantifiable savings though. Finally, the trade in offered was poor and my 17 plate Diesel Tit Navigator will hopefully stay with me for a few more years

I've often found petrols can feel a bit "weedy" if you're used to a diesel. Don't know what engine you have at present, but even the 1.5 has 50-60% more torque than the 1.0 ecoboost.
