Ford Fiesta 1.6TDCi engine repaired after Cambelt issues

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, first time posting on the forums and in desperation really.

My Ford Fiesta 1.6TDCi 2014 cambelt went. Should really have go it done having been 10 years old and 110,000 miles but lesson learned. Anyhow the rockers shattered and was hopeful that on these Peugeot engines it would be no worse than a camshaft kit.  Sadly it bent a valve. Finally found a garage who have done loads of these and happy to repair the engine at reasonable cost. They did, had to replace the head. They got the car running fine but the issue is it's then runs "lumpy" after about 20-30mins. They are stumped.  The fuel filter and housing has been replaced. They've checked the injectors. New air filter. No lights on the dashboard.

Car has been out of action since end of October 2024 and this garage have had it 2 months. At my wits end as really need a working car.

Any suggestions as to what to try or look at would be greatly appreciated.

The garage sent me a video of the engine working/not working but not sure I can upload on this forum.

Many thanks.

Simon

Cracked piston crown would be my worry.

Have they checked the compression .... could be a bent conrod..just a thought.

Compression check would be worth doing.
