MK3 Bizarre Front Washer Issue..

Featured Replies

This seems strange to me and has me perplexed.

2013 Ford Focus Titanium (which I believe makes it a Mk3?)

The front washer sprayers seem to be working intermittently. If I try and run them, I get a feeble spray that eventually peters out to nothing. If I run the rear washer, it takes a second and then I get a good strong spray. Running the front washers again right away produces a strong spray that again slowly peters out.

So there's fluid - I confirmed there is no leak, the pump is working. A bit of research tells me there is no filter to clog up, but it seems like there might be a screen somewhere? Is the screen somehow between the hoses for the front and rears?

I'm terribly confused. Any insight or ideas??

Not sure what the difference would be between a filter and a screen but there is one over the pump inlet on these.  You will need to remove the pump to check or clean it.  In this case, I think I'd have a spare pump ready to fit, in case it does turn out to be the pump.

Usually cheap screen wash turns to jelly blocking the screen/filter, clear it out and use the recommended with the correct dilute to water ratio.
