Central Locking

Featured Replies

Is the central locking on a timer ????? taking some stuff into the house with the tailgate left up, after 30 seconds or so i hear the  the car lock itself but due to the tailgate being up the alarm goes off. Is it a FORscan job ?

If so will need to reload it onto my new laptop. I did disconnect the battery a while back so possibly reset itself, everything else works as it should.

cheers in advance

Yes this is normal if you don't open a door.

A few of my cars have had this feature, it's designed so if you accidentally hit the 'open' button on the fob, it will lock itself again after a minute or so if not opened, on the assumption that you didn't mean to unlock it...

I think its not really if an owner accidentally clicks it open - its more when nice people are out playing with toys and unlocking multiple vehicles - they re-lock

FYI never buy CCTV - seeing what goes on outside your door all day long will make you ill - let the government carry out their planned games to ruin your life and try to be happy instead

My main thrust is why is it locking when the tailgate is up/open. It never used to.

If your Remote is one where you can open the Tailgate on its own then I think there was on a Timer on my Mk2 Focus if you opened it that way.

I'm sure as Tom said even if you unlock the car the normal way and don't open a Door then the Alarm may go off if the Tailgate is open.

Automatic relocking
The doors will relock automatically if you do not open a door within 45 seconds of unlocking the doors with the remote control. The door locks and the alarm will return to their previous state.

cheers guys

Mr. Guest has left the theatre and won't be returning anytime soon, if at all. 🙁
