Need help/ advise

Hello all. I own a 1999 ford fiesta 1.4 zetec. I've recent been having issues with the revs, it's kinda like turbo lag but without the turbo. Anytime I try to go over 3k it just revs loads but moves very little. It serges forwards instead of just picking up speed. Quite dangerous If I'm joining a faster road. Tia

The clutch is slipping.

Is that the only thing it could be? Also does this mean I need a new clutch or can it be fixed? I work for a car parts company so I can get the bits sorted if needed

Get it diagnosed by someone who knows about cars and can test drive it first, but, yes, if the clutch is slipping it will need a new one.
