Focus 2.0l eco blue diesel temperature query

Hi guys - I am new to this forum, but I have a question that experienced Ford owners may be able to answer.

I have recently bought a used Focus Vignale, 2.0l diesel.  
After a 15 mile test drive, I noticed that the temperature gauge had barely moved from above 60 degrees.

I queried this with the salesman who in turn passed my observation on to the service department, querying the length of time the car appeared to reach working temperature

According to the salesman, the guy in the service department said “Everybody remarks on that”.

Has anyone else experienced this?  Or is this sales BS?
