MK3.5 Focus ebay rear camera

Featured Replies

I purchased a £15 rear camera module from ebay and its got a different connector. Just wondering if anyones seen this connector before? Is it for non facelift?

Anyone got a link for a cheap camera which will fit the conector i have?

This one looks more like it, but £36! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/355882815704

Amazon £40 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07HG341G1?th=1

Also, does anyone have a link to a cheap cable to connect it to the head unit? I'm sure i saw one for £2 odd https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/354729041497

Bought this RCA to two pins plug for £6.50 from Amazon as I needed it next day

I know this RCA cable goes into pins 14+15.

However I can't find which pin fits in which hole.

Pin 14 is video +

Pin 15 is video -

My cable has a red wire and a white wire. It does not mention which is + and - 😂

If anyone knows please tell!

Also, is there anything I need to do with Forscan to get this running?

Came to connect my little RCA connector which has a red and black wire coming off it, and I found pins 14 and 15 already have wires there. I've cut these and soldered my RCA cables to them.

Video + is blue, pin 14, to red wire of RCA

Video - is green, pin 15, to black wire of RCA.

From what I can tell the centre pin on the RCA cable is positive, so the red wire. The outer conductor of the RCA cable is negative, so the black wire

I've connected them up, just need to reprogram via Forscan. I'm awaiting my free license for this.

For this I believe I do:

Change the 7DO-01-01 line in the APIM(As-Built) from 7D0-01-01-096C-65DA-109D to 7D0-01-01-0B6C-65DA-109D
Key:
3 = With camera no PDC
9 = No camera with PDC
B = With Camera and PDC

If anyone can confirm, I'd appreciate it.

Connect up Forscan this morning with a free extended license and my 7D0-01-01 is 0968 65DA 1099, as opposed to what I put above, which are some instructions I found on the internet.

So I thought I'd change the 0968 to 0B68, however when I press 'write ' it gives an invalid checksum error, so I didn't go ahead

Right, all done and working!

Rather than program the address direct, I used the selection screen.

Can a mod change title to:

Focus Mk3.5 Sync 2 Aftermarket Reversing Camera Install

  • Author

Just a quick note, my ASBUILT for the APIM after changing the drop down now reads:

7D0-01 -01 0D68 65DA 109D

And I'm getting a fault code:

Code: U2101 - Control Module Configuration Incompatible

Don't seem to be having issues because of it, but it doesn't go away when I clear the DTCs
