Possible head gasket problem (white smoke upon revving,

Featured Replies

I have white smoke coming from the exhaust of my Ford Focus Titanium 1.6l 2014 petrol automatic. The engine management light is also showing steady amber. The car starts and radio, lights, everything works when it is turned on.

I've been told it may be a head gasket problem but there is no creamy residue, the coolant is not leaking and the oil is perfectly clear. I did have shuddering and loss of power to the engine before the noise and white smoke started.

Could it just be a clogged filter? Or is definitely a head gasket issue?

I have an offer for £1000. Should I sell it or try to get it fixed?

This one doesn't sound like headgasket to me.  Easily tested using a colour changing CO2 tester on the coolant reservoir.

Most garages should have one, or you can buy them on eBay, Amazon etc.
