1.6 Ecoboost BV61-12A650-ENB file

Featured Replies

Does anyone have the ECU file for the 180 HP version of the 1.6 Ecoboost BV61-12A650-ENB because I can't find it anywhere.

My car is the 150hp version with BV61-12A650-EMB

Try FORScan forums but I think you need a non fake, paid UCDS system to install

Thanks.

How much do real ones cost? I'm seeing some from 10€ all the way to 200€. And how do I know it's real?

BV61-12A650-EMB is the PCM hardware version number.

You need to know the exact PCM software (calibration) version number that you have right now. Based on that software version number the correct 182 HP software can be determined.

Many software versions are superseded by a newer version. Most of the older versions are no longer available from the Ford servers.

I have quite a large collection of Ford VBF files including quite some PCM software for the 1.6 ECOboost. Back in the days I upgraded many 1.6 ECOboost engines from 150 HP to 182 HP or Mountune MP200 software. If you know the current software (calibration) version I might be able to help you.

If I had his vin no , would I find what he looking for like this example?

The corresponding software (calibration) version ford hardware version BV61-12A650-EMB would originally have been BV61-14C204-EMB.

However the software of the 1.6 ECOboost has been updated several times so it is highly likely that the car currently has a different software (calibration) version.

The most recent version of the 1.6 ECOboost software was released with the 18S07 clutch recall. This software introduced the torque limitation/clutch slip detection. Personally I actually prefer a slightly older software version that does not have the torque limitation/clutch slip detection (I am perfectly capable to detect clutch slip myself).

Well this is what I see on forscan

PCM calibration level: BV61-12A650-EMB.

It's a 6 speed manual so I don't know if the recall affects mine

My vin is on there if that helpsIMG_20241213_141900.thumb.jpg.4a2e71ec8f6b3d4d12d4fec230545463.jpg

The hardware number of your PCM is BV61-12A650-CXA
The original software on this PCM from new has been BV61-14C204-CXA

The currently installed software number of your PCM is BV61-14C204-EMB. Because of the currently installed software the PCM is identified as part number BV61-12A650-EMB.

This is the 18S07 recall software that contains the torque limitation/clutch slip detection.

For a BV61-12A650-CXA PCM I recommend the (slightly older) BV61-14C204-ENA 182 HP software because this version does not yet have the torque limitation/clutch slip detection.

Alternatively the Mountune MP200 BV61-14C204-FFB software can be installed.

Many VBF files can be downloaded by the following link:

Tune-Space.com

This is basically an interface that connects to the Ford server. If the downloaded file is 0 kb in size this means that the particular file is no longer present on the Ford server. Unfortunately many files were removed lately.

Do I need something extra for the mountune software or can I keep the car stock?

But what does he use to install it?

Will FORScan do it as a manual install? Or does he use UCDS

Genuine article is ONLY purchased form UCDS themselves

The Mountune software requires an uprated intercooler, air filter and air filter housing.

These do not need to be Mountune parts. I have had great results with an uprated Airtec intercooler, Focus MK3.5 RS air filter housing and K&N air filter.

There are several methods.

The Forscan 2.4 Beta versions, the FoCCCus software and the UCDS diagnostic system (both original and Chinese clone) all allow manual selection of the previously downloaded VBF files.

Back in the days I upgraded quite some vehicles to the 182 HP software by using the official Ford IDS diagnostic system in combination with a genuine VCM II diagnostic interface. I used to have an annual Ford IDS license which I paid for by offering my services to others. However because the license costs involved increased drastically and newer Ford vehicles are no longer fully supported by the IDS system it was no longer worth it.

Every Ford dealer that has the IDS diagnostic system is able to perform the 150 HP --> 182 HP upgrade. However very few actually know the correct procedure to perform this action.
