Upgrading Zetec Map Reading Light

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I could be wrong, but I'm sure I saw online that someone said you can upgrade a Mk2 Zetec basic interior Map light, to a more advanced unit with the additional buttons. Will a titanium light fit and is it a straight swap? Cheers

Think it should be straightforward as the extra lamps are just fed internally from the power that already feeds in for having the lamp on rather than linked to the doors opening. Just not sure if the connection will match up if it’s got the interior sensors built in that your model maybe doesn’t have.

Pretty sure I upgraded my basic rear courtesy lamp to one out of a Mondeo which had similar map lights with no issues

Found this while googling to jog my memory

Yes, plug & play
