1.0 Ecoboost losing power 2012

Featured Replies

Don't know if anyone can help me, i've got a focus ecoboost 1.0l.

About a week ago I was driving and i felt the tension on the accelerator loosen and then when i put my foot to the floor nothing happened it wouldn't accelerate whilst driving, it remained like that until I stopped the car and turned the engine off. Next time I drove it, it was initially fine and then the same thing happened again, plus i stopped at some traffic lights and when i put it into first it made a grinding sound and smelt like burning metal ( my foot was fully down on the clutch) i then drove a further 15 miles home and reversed it onto my drive and the same clutch grind/ smell happened again. I won't drive it now until its fixed, if anyone has any ideas I'd be grateful. thanks

When you say it would not accelerate while driving, did the engine revs go up, but not the speed?

If so, it sounds as if the clutch is slipping (probably worn out).
