Hi guys. My bonnet warning light on my mk8 fiesta is on almost constantly and my alarm sometimes goes off for no reason.

I sprayed wd40 on the latch and it went away for about 20 minutes.

Any help would be appreciated.

    You need a replacement latch, common fault...

    As Stephen has said, you need to replace the latch assembly (with switch) Ford finis number 2162011

    Hello if you watch the video I have attached at the bottom this will help, i was having the exact same issue on my 1.0 focus  and I did what this guy did in the video with the paper clip, it’s been perfect for over 4 months now. Hope this help!

    That is fine for a temporary fix.

    It means that the alarm system will be bypassed for the bonnet. There is the small problem of, if your car gets stolen (very common for Fiesta's) then the insurance company will void the policy if they find out that the alarm system had been tampered with.
