Coolant loss

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've got a galaxy from 2010, couple of days ago it's started to loose the coolant heavily ( top it up daily with 2L).

The driver side and behind the driver seat the foot well is soaked.

Can anybody help me where to start the check, and what can be the issue?

Many thanks

If coolant is leaking inside the car then that can only be from the heater matrix.

Some models have split pipes with a joiner that can fail, so check that first (head in the footwell).  If the pipes aren't split or the joiner hasn't failed then it'll need a full new matrix which requires dashboard removal.

Thanks for your answer, just one more quick question, basically where the pedals is is dry, just the in the center of foot well is wet, and the carpet right beside the gear stick. Could be a stupid question, there is water pipes going on that side towards the rear seats?

No pipes going back.  That's exactly where the heater matrix is, just behind the dashboard in the middle of the car.  Sounds like it is a full matrix failure in your case, as the joining pipes are closer to the pedals.

Thank you, I am going to try to check it today.
