I have recently sent my car into a garbage due to my gear bushes been extremely worn, I have been quoted around £500 for them to be replaced is this a rip off? How much should I pay for the repair?

    in the video the mechanic sent me he said “Gear shifter bush”.

    Thanks for confirming.

    I think this is probably the single bush inside the gearbox under the shifter turret.  The part only costs £10-£15.  I would estimate around an hours labour as the gearbox doesn't need to be removed but some other parts do for access.  

    With a quote of £500 it may be a completely different job.  I can't see the cable bushes available individually, but they would be cheaper and easier than this one anyway.
