2014 Focus rear window/tailgate

Has anyone got any advice regarding replacing the rear window? Managed to smash it upon closing boot when moving some stuff.  Not covered on insurance and quotes are £400 up which i cannot afford.  Is it possible to replace it diy or alternatively i have been looking at complete tailgate is it straight forward enough to remove any advice most welcome. Its a 5 door hatch with privacy glass.

    Probably better off going down the second hand route and sourcing a complete hatch from a local scrapper

    Yes, get a full tailgate from scrapyard if a common colour.  Should be cheap collected as they're a massive pain to post so generally not listed online.

    You could cut out a scrap screen with cheese wire and then bond it in with glass adhesive but it'll never look professionally finished.

    its deep impact blue so there's a few online was thinking complete tailgate tbf as fitting the glass looks tricky.
