Intermittent Electrical Fault- 2007 Focus

My friend has a 2007 Focus diesel & has intermittent problem with the indicators, A/c & keyless not working. This seems to occur after rain (the vehicle is not garaged). Seems to rectify itself when out in the sun for a while ( yes we do have quite a bit of that in Oz). Seems to point to a moisture problem. Various auto electricians have looked at the vehicle to no avail. Would greatly appreciate any advice as to what the cause may be.

    Water ingress to the GEM is a common problem on these models.

    Thanks for that Unofix, hope to look at the vehicle next Monday. What is the location of the GEM on RH drive vehicle & can it be dismantled- cheers 007 (Bruce)

    Under glovebox, you can split it to check the board, but that's all

    GEM is know as the BCM on newer vehicles. It is the back half of the passenger compartment fuse box. Disconnect the battery negative lead before investigating. 

    Remove all plugs and fully remove the Fuse box/GEM. Check connectors for corrosion and signs of water ingress.
