Brake fluid capacity

Featured Replies

Hello, could anyone tell capacity of brake fluid for ford focus mk4 1.0 92kw ? There is only code given in the manual

Brake Fluid DOT 4 LV High Performance
RU7J-M6C65-xxxx
WSS-M6C65-A2

Brake fluid capacity isn't usually stated because it wouldn't be drained and refilled like other fluids.  When changing it, it's flushed through until it becomes clear.  Most cars will be around 1 litre though you could choose to get 2 litres just in case.

Brake fluid goes off quickly after opening so I'd get it in 1 litre bottles, or even half litre bottles, to save wasting any that's left in the open bottle.

I've done many complete Brake Fluid changes and never used more than 1 Litre, half a Litre is not enough in my experience.

On a related note - is the brake fluid reservoir on the mk4 also shared with the clutch system?
