Brake bleeder

Featured Replies

Recommend a half descent brake bleeder for my Focus please. I will probably only use it once so dont want to spend too much.....im a tight Scottish pensioner you know 😁

I like the Vizibleed for driveway use.  Though if you've got access to compressed air in that garage then a vacuum bleeder should do a better job.  You should use Forscan to open the ABS valves when bleeding 'modern' cars.

I've used one of these one man Tubes for years, only £2.45 on eBay.

I have never opened the ABS Valves when doing just a Fluid change on any car including my current one although you need to on the models that have an Electronic Brake Booster instead of a Servo according to Ford.

I’ve used an Eezibleed kit in the past but fluid changes during services the garage have got better results the old fashioned way pumping the pedal while opening and closing the bleed nipples etc. car is serviced by an ST specialist and they’ve never needed to activate the ABS valves

Apparently pressure kits like the Eezibleed can induce air bubbles into the fluid

Like wise 👍

Bought mine 40 years ago for 20p from a little shop called Autopoint in Hebburn. I didn't know you could still get them 😀

Last used mine a couple of months back when I changed the clutch, push tube over nipple, open nipple, a few pumps of the peddle, close nipple, perfect clutch. If they are in good condition they work well.

How does the one-way valve work on that one?

There's a small ball bearing in the end of the Vizibleed.  I did have to buy a new one after about 8 years as the ball rusted and stopped working perfectly.  (My own fault for not cleaning it properly)

It's simple. it has a Stop End and a Longitudinal Slit about an inch long near the base that opens under pressure when you press the Pedal and closes on the return stroke of the Pedal.
