Ford Fiesta 2015 - 1.0 petrol ecoboost not starting after st

Featured Replies

I am a driving instructor, my pupils tend to stall regularly. Ive got a 2015 Ford Fiesta 1.0 petrol ecoboost. The car would normally restart upon de clutching. But these days it doesnt. Also if my pupil does a hard stall, the engine cuts out and the pupil has to press the power button to restart the car. If this is done immediately then then car doesnt start and i have to push start it popping the clutch in 1st or 2nd to get the car started. The car starts in the mrngs 1st time with no problem. Battery is in great condition and alternator is also fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. P.s i usually press the autostop override to avoid the car switching off and not restarting again during driving lessons...

Has anyone else experienced this or a similiar issue and what was the solution ???

Thnks

Bob 😊

Is this still the car's original engine ?

How many miles has the engine covered ?

Has this problem only started after the wet belts were changed ?

Mrng and thanks for your reply. Yes it is the cars original engine. The car has done 103k miles.  Wet belt was changed 60k miles. This problem has only just started @ 103k mles....

Once my pupil stalls the car if we shut off the engine using the power button wait several seconds before re attempting the start its fine.  But if we attempt to restart it instantly it will not start at all and Im then having to push start it. 🫣

This may be as simple as the clutch switches are worn out and are not operating quickly. There are two switches on the pedal, and can easily be replaced. Note that the switches are different.
