Just buy the recommended one for the car, and check that the alternator is doing its job, using a voltmeter, check across the terminals of the battery and see what voltage is present, should be around 14v and change if its charging properly when engine is running.

As long as you know it's the battery that's gone and not a charging fault, just fit a new battery, same capacity as the one you remove.

You can fit the next one up, if you want to

Just take it off, if you're not sure, take it to GSF or similar and they'll find you the correct one or correct higher capacity one

I was just yanking your chain over the 12v comment😘

That's a bit like someone asking "What tyres to buy" and the answer given "Black and Round ones" ! 😛

Anyway. Looking at Tayna, looks like you may need an 075 type. Before you buy, get a tape measure (or ruler) and check the size is the same for new and old. The height may be tricky. I'd recommend a well know make, such as Bosch or Varta. I have bought Varta Silver batteries for several of our cars from Tayna, obviously had no problems.

I may be wrong, but I don't think it matters if new battery has slightly higher capacity and/or more CCA. You may have to reset something (BMS?), but do a search on here to find out how.

The problem with lack of information given in the original post means it could be potentially one of a few batteries. Factors like is it petrol or diesel, and is it manual or automatic often play a major part in determining the correct battery.

Personally I'd have offered a little more help and said you need a 12 Volt black one 🤣

No BMS fitted on a 2009 Fiesta, so nothing to reset.

Not think that's a bit discriminatory?  Bosch 12V batteries are available in plain silver and silver with blue accents. 😉 😄

Apparently from the 1st April this year it's official the government and the legal system can be exactly that, 'racist'.

The UK are introducing apartheid 🙁

Yep👍

@Jim H So, Not having a pop at Vinny, I did apologise for "yanking his chain" because he did come back, but:

1: We get loads of OPWs on here (One post wonders) who ask a question and never come back to look at the effort people have put into answering their concerns

And

2: I did actually type "What battery 2009 fiesta" into google and the batteries came up

But, as I say, Vinny did come back so we helped him
