Featured Replies

Engine management light (orange) came on took it to ford dealership, code P2002 dpf efficiency came up,they fitted  a dpf pressure sensor and pipes, fault cleared, light came on month later again, took it to independent garage, unable to determine fault, was advised to book it in to a ford dealership, no issues with running the car drives normal, any help greatly appreciated.

DPF clogged?

Are you allowing the regen cycles to complete?

Are you driving it enough to allow the regen cycles to start?

Make sure you change the oil often too on this engine, at least twice as often as what Ford recommends due to oil contamination of the wet belt

I don't think they got to the bottom of the problem unless they  showed you evidence that the pipes were blocked (never happened to us in 14 years) or the sensor was faulty (again, lasted 14 years so far - famous last words)

DPF  pretty much always victim of something else, needing proper diagnosis.

My DIY  starting point would be to use Forscan to investigate all relevant codes and live data around DPF pressure, soot loadings at idle and 3000 RPM then look into EGR turbo, MAP, anything relevant.

Does it have a vaporiser plug - very common fault - the post injection c__p is a very poor design leading to oil dilution IMHO?

Avoid forced regens unless absolutely necessary.

OR get a proper DPF  diagnostic guy or gal (NOT someone who just cleans!) that gives you a proper diagnosis that you are confident in.

If they suggest parts, ask if they'll give you your money back if it doesn't fix the issue (Good Luck on that one, Ha Ha!)
